MALCOLM ISLAND WOODCRAFTS

Malcolm Island Woodcrafts Inc. is a family owned and operated custom woodworking operation specializing in charcuterie boards, furniture, home décor house signs, welcome porch signs and so much more.

Ian uses a variety of locally sourced wood from his woodlot on Northern Vancouver Island. Hard and softwoods such as Maple, Yew, Red and Yellow cedar are used to create beautiful designed one-of-a-kind pieces.

All the wood used in Malcolm Island Woodcrafts Inc.`s projects is salvaged. No trees are cut down in the process. Logs are hand picked and then milled with his portable bandsaw mill.

Once the logs are milled, Ian & his wife Michelle begin the design process. After the design is completed, its off to the shop to carve out the items using there CNC. The CNC with the laser attachment is one of the latest tools in the workshop and really adds to the detail of the projects.

Ian started working with wood about 7 years ago after getting a salvage permit and realizing the wood left in the bush to rot could be turned into beautiful pieces of furniture or art.
